The Vanarama National League might be the division outside the football league, but there are some standard players who are quite valuable in this division. The top five are:

Ross McCormack – Aldershot Town

Ross McCormack is one of the popular names in the National League. A striker who is known for his playing days at Rangers and Aston Villa, McCormack has been with Aldershot since September 2020. After struggling to find a club after his days at Villa came to end in 2019, McCormack made the switch to non-league. However, he remains as one of the valuable players in the division. Still only 34 years old, McCormack has a lot to give for Aldershot in the next few years.

Adam Rooney – Solihull Moors

Adam Rooney is a former Championship striker who is currently with National League outfit Solihull Moors. The striker is rated as the second most valuable player in the league. Still only 32 years old, Rooney brings a lot of experience and quality from years of playing at the top level. In his quite successful career, Rooney has been able to feature for the likes of Birmingham City and Aberdeen. He has picked up trophies like the Scottish League Cup.

Ruben Rodrigues – Notts County

Notts County were able to create headlines in the summer of 2020 when the club signed a young and adventurous Ruben Rodrigues from Dutch outfit FC Den Bosch. The midfielder has joined on a free transfer and he is stepping away from Dutch football for the first time in his career. At just 24 years of age, Rodrigues has the best years ahead of him. Despite his lack of experience in the English game, Notts County will be hoping for a big impact from the midfielder.

Ben Turner – Notts County

Ben Turner is the second Notts County player to feature on the list. He has been on the books of Notts County since 2019. The defender is best known for his time at Cardiff City, who provided the player with an opportunity to play in the Premier League. Turner may have played just one season in the English top flight, but he was regular for Cardiff in their time in the top division. In the last few years, Turner has been featuring for the likes of Burton Albion and Mansfield Town.

Jamie Ward – Solihull Moors

Jamie Ward is a Northern Ireland international who is ranked as one of the top players in the National League. A well-travelled striker, Ward has represented several clubs in English football over the years. He is best known for his time at Derby County for a period of four years from 2011 to 2015, when he was a first team regular for the Rams. After leaving Scunthorpe United in 2020, Ward joined Solihull Moors on a free transfer in October 2020.
